The only requirement is to use Fall colors. This past weekend my husband was finally home for more than just a few hours so we were able to go play with our horses. Fall in Wisconsin is perfect for horses the bugs are gone for the most part and the horses are much more likely to work with you because they are more comfortable. This card is a picture of my horse (as best as I could color her). Her name is Summer VJ. Summer because she was born in late July and the VJ is after my dear daughter Valerie Jane. I first spotted Summer when my husband took his horse for training at a ranch about an hour from our home. She was three months old at the time and just as lovable as could be. Her white stockings went blazing through the grass like lightning. I soon learned she was a cross between a Tennessee Walker and a Spotted Saddle Horse. So that was the explanation for how funny her run looked to me. The year had been difficult for me as I had lost my daughter and Summer was more than willing to love me up and cuttle. Needless to say she was purchased by me within the month. When she was young we played hide and seek for horse treats in and around the barn. I taught her to play ball with a huge oversize ball. Maybe I'll write more about her later, but for now lets just say she saved me and I will never forget that.
Back to the card; I used all Gina K Design PL card stock, Pumpkin Spice, Green Apple, Ivory and a tiny bit of Cranberry Tart. The stamp set is also from Gina's illustrated by Theresa called Out West, horse image and Life is Good tree images. I stamped my horse and masked him off to stamp the trees behind. I sponged the background, added some spots of fall color to the trees with copics. Colored in my horse using 3 different colors of copics. Added the dp and the circle of Cranberry Tart with leaves I punched out and embossed with a leaf design punch. I smudged some white metallic rub on to make the embossing stand out more. Added a button and some jute.
I hope you enjoyed my story and my card.
Have a great day.
Colleen
