Today's post is for a challenge on Soul-Scrappers. The idea behind the page is to scrap an unexpected event in your life.
Those that know me would have thought I would scrap a different event. Truthfully I did consider it, then I thought, I would like to scrap something happy not an overwhelming sad time.
There are too many stresses in life today for that. Soooooo this is my page! Now for the unexpected part!
Before I met my current husband I had been divorced for four years. Raising two children on my own. While my daughter was only 7 at the time her brother was a very troubled teen at age 11. Although I was kinda dating, most of my time was devoted to my kids and my fulltime job. Truthfully I didn't think there was a good guy out there and certainly not one that wanted to deal with a troubled teenage boy. I thought when my kids grow up and leave I would be a bag lady. Then I met Bob through work, he worked at another branch of the company. Through our phone conversations, he already knew I didn't trust men, I worked a lot, and my kids came first. After having several "life" conversations by phone over the course of a year, we decided to meet at a work function that was open to all employees no matter what branch they were in. Shall I say the rest is history. We've been married for 20 plus years now and we have gone through some of the roughest of times. But we still have each other.
This page will be framed and given to my husband as a gift either on Valentines Day or our Anniversary.
Have a great day what ever you are doing. I have to get the puppies up now. Hope to be back with a card.
