Joan's Garden 11

Hi, long days here and even longer weeks. I did finally manage to get a card done though. This one is for Joan's Garden challenge. I love doing her challenges! This is a Heartfelt Creations set I've had since November(the stamp show). Yes this is kinda like one you've seen before. In fact it was on display at the show. Mine differs a bit but the idea is the same. Needless to say I loved the sample and had every intention of CASEing it. I think they used the Daisy set, I only have the Posies. There is one thing I learned about these sets since I did the watering can card ....... You really need to do a bigger card base or it just doesn't look right. So this is a 6X 5 1/2. Here are Joan's requriments
  • Use the colors Peach and blue (teal)
  • Use some Butterflies
  • Add something Frillie
My card base is Ocean Mist, I used a baby blue in the gingham ribbon and a dark blue on the pocket. I have peach in the dp and on my frillie lace outlining the pocket. My butterfly is a HFC die done out of two layers of vellum. I used my octagon nestie to provide a visual divide between the dp and lace. I stamped the flowers twice on the plain peach cardstock and once on the dp. I layered the center flower only added frosted lace stickles to the center. I used GlimmerMist on the butterfly and wow did it curl. I really wanted some movement, I just didn't realize how much I would get. I let it dry and tamed it down a bit.
That is it for today, tomorrow is a split shift. I have Thursday off and hope to be getting a few projects done then. This weekend we move the horses again, I hope we have found them a great home this time.
Have a wonderful day.

I love that pocket filled with posies. Your card is so pretty. I really love how you created your butterfly. Don't you like how vellum curls and makes things look more realistic. I also like the way you rounded the corners on your card. Thanks for joining us again in the challenge at Joan's Gardens.
