Joan's Garden

Wow, I didn't realize it's been a week since I've posted. This weekend went really fast. Even though I was off it seemed like every moment was taken up. We are once again forced to move our horses so we were searching for a new home for them. If only we could win the lottery, buy a ranch with a second living quarters then I could have them with me and have someone else cleaning and feeding them in these cold winters. I guess I would first have to play the lottery. LOL
On to this card, Joan's Challenge is always a good one for me because I can usually get out of my comfort zone and try something new. This week is no exception these are the requirements, Use the colors Pink and Green, Create a thank you card, Use some kind of stripes and Use something scalloped
Well the colors were no problem, thank you sentiments (wink) were no problem. I had no striped dp that I thought would go well so I went to my old favorite PC Crafter file and used my program to lighten up these stripes and printed it. Something scalloped, that is where the real trick came in. I knew I could use my scalloped oval nesties, that just seemed to boring. So I used my Curved Rectangles first to make a mat for my largest scalloped oval nestie I cut it in half for a different look. I had pink ribbon, but it was so sheer you couldn't really see the color very well(layered on the roll it looked like a wonderful pink). LOL I remembered the ruching I learned from Becca here it brought just the right amount of pink in the ribbon. I added some fibers, flowers and a pearl. Cut my sentiment out with curved rectangles, embossed in white. Added a hero arts bird stamp to "carry" the sentiment. OK I have no idea why I added the extra piece of pink card stock on the right side it just seemed like it needed the balance.
I may be back since I have today off.
Have fun with what ever you are doing.

Beautiful card...love how you did the ribbon. And I love to read how your card evolved and the story of how it came together.
