Inky Fingers!!!!

This is from a set Mark's Finest Papers released last month. Little Birds with Big Mouths. I've been looking at a few of their sets on and off. Finally with a bit of money for stamping I was able to order the ones I've been eyeballing.
I just fell in love with this set, without a closer look I ordered it.
When I received it on Saturday I stamped it several times trying to get the coloring down. Since I'm not a master at coloring, I finally stamped it in Versamark and did it in chalk. The challenge was distressing another one of my favorite things. I tore around all the edges of the image and sentiment. I created my distressed background with Watercolor paper using a music note stamp embossed in white, then inked up my acrylic block with TH Black Soot, Fire Brick and Blue Jeans spritzed it with water rubbed the paper over it tore the edges and there it was. I attached all the layers to GKD PL Smokey Slate added a piece of ribbon from my stash and a brad.
I hope you like this one! I may just be back on track here. Thanks for all your support.
Hugs
Colleen

Wonderful layout -- I love the sheet music underlayer; it must be the tune the birds are tweeting!

You are so right, my friend, the chalks worked beautifully! Sorry I didn't get back yesterday to check out the birds.
