Just Because!
I wanted to see if I could.......! I found this collage stamp(butterflies&watches) at Micheal's last week for $3.50 of course for that price why not.
I was dying to see what it would look like inked so here goes. I inked it in Vesrifine Black twice. I wanted to make the large butterfly 3-D. Used colored pencils, some glitter pens and a bit of sponging. I used glossy accents on all the watch faces. Knowing I wanted to try a collage type card I went in search of a steampunk image. Where else would I look but Kenny K. I've always admired cards I've seen that used his images they are so detailed and fun looking. I knew I couldn't wait for a stamp in the mail so I actually purchased a digi! Can you believe it? The first print was not so successful as I printed the image too big. The next time was perfect. I colored in colored pencils, afraid to used my copics. Cut it all out and went about my room collecting things for my card. I found the watch face in an embellishment bag I purchased over a year ago, flowers also from my stash. In my corporate life my last job was in a manufacturing plant. When I would leave my cubical to see the people on the manufacturing floor I would always come across these washers and things. One day I started to collect them for my scrapbooking. Now I have one on a card. I know steampunk is usually not pastels, but that is what I was feeling with the butterfly stamp. I just may have to make another one with kraft and darker colors. It's Wednesday and I'm off and demos are on in town. I will be going there for a bit. I'm expecting a visitor from NY. today and I can't wait! Bob is bringing her back.
Please let me know how you like my first steampunk try. I would really be interested in any comments as I said I really like these images and have one or more in mind.
Have a wonderful day, I'm off in search of a vintage anything to make another card. I would really like to find a vintage sub.
