A New Home

Eclectic Paperie's get altered challenge. This time the team picked boxes. I've been working on this between work hours since the challenge was posted. Some of the techniques require overnight drying. I started with a basic idea of a shadow box for this little girl I've had put away for safe keeping for sometime now. Went to my stash and started pulling things out, finally I decided my first few steps. I used Gesso
to cover the box and painted the box pink. I really wasn't happy with the look I had so I went to my paper stash and found some coordinating dp in several pink designs. I started tearing the paper to get a white edge and piecing it on the box adding and tacking away until I liked the pattern I had.  When I completed that step and it dried it was time to put some dimension into the project so I used embossing paste and the branches stencil from The Crafters Workshop. I managed somehow to paint all the branches, note to self why didn't I just color the paste? I'm still in the learning phase. LOL. I added little paper flowers colored with copics and Stickles for the middle. The grass was made with Sour Apple Green Fun Flock. I used Spellbinders Iron Gate three times to fit the front. My stamps on the inside are from Hero Arts(tree) and TH set called City Central. The background was sponged lightly. The TH die cut in the center of the box holds the whole story a stamp by Great Impressions Once Upon A Time I added the three half pears to ground the sentiment.
Well that is it for now. I hope to be back in the morning. We are getting hit hard with snow and bitter cold weather over the next 48 to 72 hours. I'm supposed to work tomorrow, but then I was supposed to be working right now. LOL
Hugs
Colleen

A stroll through Central Park? High wind and flooding here right now, but never fear, your snow will be here in the morning! Not like this sweet little lady and her Spring blossoms! Fantastic work, Colleen.

You are doing so great on these challenges, much braver than I am.
Love the way you created your scene with her. Love the way your trees match your tree stamp with the flowers. The fence is one of my favorite elements.
Hope you are safe and warm. We had light snow over night last night and maybe a bit more tonight but not too bad.
hugs...
