Spring Has Sprung

Or so they say, forecast here snow and below normal temps. Any way our quarterly Art Journal challenge came up this month on Soul Scrappers. It was all about spring and paper napkins. I had never used paper napkins in my journal page before. I found a napkin at the dollar store that had tons of bright flowers on it and a white background then at Hobby Lobby I found this cute little blue and white poke a dot one. Pictures at the bottom. I sorta knew I wanted to use the new to me TH die Rickety House and the duck in the umbrella from GKD by Rupa the set is called Spring Has Sprung. I set out making my river with Golden's Fiber Paste which provided lots of peaks and currents. Then I was suddenly lost! I has so much texture in my river what was I going to do with the rest of my page? LOL
After I colored the duckies, rocks paper pieced the umbrella and die cut the parts of the house. I was going over to cb to emboss the house pieces and saw a tiny piece of green burlap on the floor. I tried to color it with a collection of colors from TH paints and it worked there was my ground texture. The other side of the "river bank" is made from tissue applied with Mod Podge.

My tree stencil with heavy molding paste and TH Walnut Stain paint. The leaves were made with the fiber paste and three colors of TH paints.

My fence is a Martha Stewart punch altered by cutting two and adding them on top of each other.

My last picture of is of the napkins used.
Hope you like this one. I better get back to work I have two more projects to finish before months end.
Have a great day.
Hugs,
Colleen
