Let's Dance

Talk about cutting it close! I've been working on this card for a few days now between work and puppy time. I stayed up really late last night(11pm) to get it finished and entered in Speedy the Cat's challenge to add lace.
I used one of my new stamps from them called Sew What. If you are going to add lace you may as well use a sewing set :).
I used GKD PL card stock, White heavy weight for my base and Black Onyx for my mat. The dp is from scraps as is the mulberry paper and black velvet paper.
I stamped the image on white for the base of the image. Then stamping the image again on the following, scrap white and the mulberry paper.
Cutting the mulberry paper a bit "off" the image so I could raise it to show image under mocking lace at the bottom of the dress. I used the scrap white to back the velvet top of the dress, attaching the velvet and cutting it out around the image, dropping the waist a bit so I could latter attach the pearls. Found another scrap of pink used my swiss dot ef and layered on the dp. I used my new edge die from Whimsy Stamps. (Isn't it just the prettiest ever more below) on another piece of scrap black velvet and attached that to the embossed pink. I added my lace with little roses to the side and sponged around my main image with two different pink and plum inks.
Then I thought there was something missing so I punched a little flourish out of the black velvet adding that to the main focal point dressing it up enough but not over whelming it. I really hope you like this one and yes it will be destined for New York at some point.
Now just a few personal notes, For those of you who follow my blog you know my friends honored me with a tribute to my daughter about six months ago when Whimsy Stamps named a stamp after her . It was at that time I realized the amazing group of cyber friends I have and what a great company Whimsy Stamps is. I vowed that when finances were better I would support their company. I want to tell you about my very first order. It was a small one two dies and a few stamps. My order arrived at my home in 3 days, I couldn't believe it arrived so fast. When I opened the order I found a loose stamp in it. I emailed them to see if I should send it back and they said they put it in as a gift. They put a little something in every order they said. Even better each time you order you accumulate points you can used as dollars off anytime you want giving you a discount when ever you want. Shipping rates are so reasonable it cost only $4.00 to get my order. They are also publishing a free on line magazine with so much inspiration in it. They are getting two new illustrators next month. Needless to say as impressed as I am with the service and the great quality of the products I'm putting in my second order. If you read all of this thanks for sticking with me.
Have a wonderful day!
Colleen

That's right - if you're going to add lace, might as well be to a sewing stamp!! LOL I like what you did with that pink lace - it's the perfect detail to the dressmakers form. And that line of white roses? Gorgeous! Thanks for playing with Speedy's Friends!
