I'm not last at Craft a Scene this time. Challenge is craft a Winter Scene.
I worked all morning on this my very first ever glossy cardstock scene to post. I watched two lessons by Kevin Nakagawa the illustrator of Stampscamps. I really learned a much easier way to use my stamps and some uses for all the filler stamps. I've watched lessons before but none were as helpful as his. I belong to a yahoo stampscapes group and have not really had time to do scenes. I have been watching the scenes being posted and I was amazed at the ones that looked like they were stamped on ornament shapes by Karen W. I wanted to work with the same idea, making mine look more like postcards.
OK on with the card(my first Christmas card for 2013) First I cut the TH Ornamental die shape out to use as sorta of a map of how to place my stamps. I used the following Stampscapes stamps Cumulus Cloud Lg. 019G, Sedge Filler251C, Country Chapel 215G, Cabin with Fence 144F and Art Impressions Bear AA3267 all stamped in Archival Jet Black. The Sedge Filler stamp was stamped off several times to give more of a shadow effect.
I used my Colorbox stylus, my Marvy #60 Salvia Blue and Marvy #29 Prussian Blue for coloring. I stamped Stampscapes Curvy Branch 271G in Colorbox Frost White(thanks Anna-Karin) added some white gel pen.
Lastly I measured a piece of white cardstock to fit, centered the die(fingers crossed)made my overlay. I stamped my sentiment and ran the overlay through my cb using the snowflake folder. Assembled with navy mat and added to white card base. I'm thinking it needs maybe just a little ornamentation to make it more festive, but I not touching it at this moment. LOL
Yes my desk is a mess :) but a very happy one!
Hope you got through all this,
Hugs
Colleen
