Race Anyone?

Finally it's finished! My grandson is a huge race car fan and goes with his other grandpa almost every weekend during the season. That being said of course I wanted to make him a race card themed birthday card. I had a picture in my head of what I wanted, just not how to execute each part.
I decided the Side Step card would best fit my design so I found some instructions on Pinterest and gave it a go. One of the sets I picked for my rental from Raisin Boat this month was called Race Fan. His favorite driver's car looks something like the red one and I just thought the green, black and yellow would look cool with it. The cars are both stamped on glossy card stock and colored with markers. The "decals" are really stamped images that came with the set and were put on the cars after coloring using white embossing powder. Yes I did emboss on glossy cardstock very carefully though or it crackles the paper. The Utica(town he lives in)Speedway sign was generated from my computer and strung with twine on two skewers that are held on the second step with score tape. Boy embellishments are really hard so I went back to my squished bottle caps, added an image from the set and some glossy accents. I used my new tire/boots embossing folder and my brick wall one. The card is a bit over the normal only because when I measured everything out ...... my stamped image was not yet stamped. So yes I had the cars going the wrong way LOL. The rear end of the green one was supposed to be hidden inside making it look slower so I quick found a little longer envelope and went on.
I hope you like this one. I know Timmy will go crazy over it.
Happy New Year to everyone. Hope to be back soon.
Hugs
Colleen
