Camo Flowers
This two week challenge at EP is flowers. I know a lot of my blogland friends that are experts with flowers, not me though. Seriously, I thought I would give sketching some of those 60's flowers we all drew on anything we could find in high school in my journal. That didn't go well at all. While I was searching my stash for some ATC images I found these clear flower stamps that must have been purchased by my daughter 14 yrs ago and strangely enough they reminded me of those crazy flowers. My intention was to use those in my journal then ........
Kim, from EP came back with a gesso resits technique from Ranger U (lucky girl) and posted this video here .
Plans changed, I really wanted to try the technique so I went to a tag. The technique as demonstrated requires Tim Holtz stains, I do have a few of them. I picked Spun Sugar and nothing showed up, then I picked Peeled Paint and Tea Dye. Surprise I wasn't in love with it. I let it sit for a bit and went to work. When I was able to get back to my craft room, I stamped the flower in Archival jet black and stamped a few off the tag. It suddenly hit me this looks like the Camo all the teens are crazy over right now. I curved the stem added the leaves and started feeling the love, I went in search of add on's I have tons of scrapbooking items. One of the big things in mixed media right now is rub-ons I found a ton of them and guess what they look like washi tape wow a double hitter. I added some buttons, stamped a ticket image from Whimsy Stamps, little bubble letters, and some self stick braided ribbon. Still looked a bit dull so I took my white pen and added some outlines around the stamped images. I have enough paper left over for an ATC card bonus!
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
Hugs
Colleen

Today is the first day that I looked out my window, and it looks like all the fresh colors of Spring! Dogwoods blooming, tiny green leaves, and tulips. You really got the posts up while I was gone. They are wonderful. Glad that you found that special flower stamp. I bet Valerie is smiling.
