Faux Gelli Plate

The first day of inspiration with Pam of Paper Artsy was a really fun faux Gelli Plate print to make your own embellishments. Pam is a scrapbooker and right now I'm not, but with more of her inspiration I just may start up again. She has really done some fab work this week.
On to the project..... she was making journaling cards and embellishments to fit in one of the ready made pocket dividers made for easy memory keeping when used with corresponding elements. She used her craft sheet as a printing surface. While I myself have splashed paint on my mat and picked it up with paper to make a background,
she demonstrated how to use things you have laying on your desk to add layers of interest and non bulky elements to those ready made pocket pages. I have to confess I tried to do it on my craft sheet and it didn't turn out. Then I used my acrylic block, the first print I made turned out so cute I was hooked. so I picked out some more colors and did two more. I had to make myself stop it was just so fun. This card is the second and third result of my journey. I used acrylic pink first, put down my paper, then I put down some blue right over the left over pink, using my brayer to spread, then took the skewer I have on my desk drew lines in the paint and then pulled out the white paint and used the flat end of the skewer to make circles/dots right over the blue and printed on my paper once again. I still had paint on my block so I spritzed it slightly and made another print for my embellishment. I stamped the flower and the sentiment with Aqua Archival Ink. Using my white gel pen added some detail then added those huge eyelets and floss for hanging. I wanted to stay in the theme of pockets so I made a vellum pocket to carry my little card/ornament. One more Christmas card done.
Thanks for stopping by I hope you can tell how much fun I'm having.
Hugs
Colleen
