Punk'd

Finally I get to really play with my new Paper Artsy toys! Stamps EDY05 by Darcy, Limited Edition Jofy paints, Grunge Paste and Stencil PS001.
This was inspired by Brenda's extended tag you can find here.
Although my tag is totally different than Brenda's I followed the same six principals.
Theme-Steampunk
Colors- Greens, Pinks, Oranges and Blue
Background-Textured and Layered
Focal Point- Punk'd Flamingo
Collage Elements-kept to the rule of odds Stenciled parts and 1 Butterfly.
I first adhered a napkin to my tag, stamped over that with Archival red in both script and music background. Then with my finger I started mixing the following colors on my tag Amethyst, Dusty Teal, Dolly Mix and some Chalk where needed. I was taking off paint with baby wipe as needed to show the layers of color. To be honest I wasn't sure what to expect since this is the first time I've used these paints. I ended up dry brushing some of the Dusty Teal over the Dolly Mix which just was just a bit to lite for the colors I was going for. When the paint dried it has a chalky effect, I guess that is why they call it Chalk Acrylics. LOL Anyway it's kind of a cool effect for distressing and they have all kinds of glazes to go over the paint for different effects. While all that was drying I was going through my 12X12 papers looking for a paper I just knew I had. Found it and didn't want to cut it? I almost hit FB up for an intervention. I found it and couldn't part with it. So I used my second choice which I actually like better. Colored my image with several of TH inks and my waterbrush. In the stamp set Darcy has this image of circles all balled up together with squiggly lines connecting them I thought if I can mirror image it I could make a butterfly out of it. I remembered in a video I saw someone take some clear packaging and stamp the image on the packaging then use that to stamp it off on their project, it worked. I used raffia for the body. To keep the art flowing I took my stencil and some Grunge Paste colored with Dylusions and placed the same part of the stencil in three places on the tag and over to the extension to bring them together. I added a little piece of raffia for my Flamingo to rest on.
I hope you like it.
Hugs
Colleen
