Tropical Tattered Floral Butterfly Tree

Hi everyone, I know I've been missing for a bit I've been working very hard on the Tattered Floral Challenge Tim Holtz put up.
I have to say this has been one of my toughest challenges so far. First I'm not use to working with flowers and second there are so many talented projects out there. I wanted to do a wreath someone beat me to it. While I was wandering my local craft store looking for inspiration I found these cones. They reminded so much of Tim's stained trees I just had to use one.
The cone is 9 1/2 inches high and has over 30 flowers displaying different combination's of Tim's Tattered Floral die. For the flowers I used some burlap and white card stock. Covering the burlap and some of the cardstock flowers are coats of Lemonade and Sunset Orange Adirondack paint Dabber. My third color is Distressed Peacock Feathers. I applied my ink pad directly to my craft sheet and spritzed with a lot of water making the color more pastel like and let the cardstock soak it up. The center of my flowers are Fun Wire I purchased a long time ago for scrapbooking. For my butterflies I used watercolor paper and Tim's Butterfly Die colored with Distressed Concord Grape in the same watered down manner as the flowers. All the way through this project I was concerned and unsure in fact it wasn't only once that I wanted to trash it. I decided to continue determined to finish, it wasn't until late yesterday when I put the butterflies on it that I thought this really maybe OK. Lesson learned  always push on.
Thanks for stopping by and please wish me luck there are over 170 entries in this challenge. Prize you ask? You bet, there will be 5 awarded each over $100.00 in Tim's stuff. Quite worth all the panic I went through don't you think. Even if I don't win I still learned learned a bunch of different ways to use this die and several ways to enjoy making flowers. One of the inspirations was even a Steapunk flower. If you get a chance stop by the link I left up top and see all the entries you will have fun browsing on what for me is another SNOWY day. I may be back later with my TH tag for this month, Its done also but my camera battery died.
Hugs
Colleen

This looks so much different than what you described on the phone! Wowzer, I really like that crazy burlap! Great job, and best of luck, Colleen!

P.S. I saw Dylusions at the show on Saturday, and I kept walking... LOL!
