Drake's B-Day

Hi, this post is for the challenge over at Mod Squad. They asked us to use "wood" you can use wood grain paper, trinkets, eb folders ect.
I knew I had these little planes (for boy cards) I purchased from Prima and wood buttons. My grandsons are getting too old for cute cards(so they say). I'm trying to get a masculine feel without making one that looks too old.
My image is from one of Rupa's @ GKD sets called Back to School. I colored the image with a mixture of TH paints, Brushed Pewter, Bundled Sage, Salty Ocean and Peeled Paint. Bonus was when I didn't clean my brush well enough and some of the shine came from the pewter and mixed into the salty ocean making the water sparkle. For my wood airplane I used TH Weathered Wood stain allowing the wood grain to show. I cut the banner free hand to match the size of the plane, wrote on it with white gel pen causing a resit for the TH paint. I used a corner punch for added interest, added a corrugated and sanded cardstock to anchor my fussy cut image, button and ticket.  My base is GKD Tanned Leather, my dp is a digital map and compass image I distressed.
That's it for now. Look for my next post later today.
Hugs,
Colleen

Love your card. And, I think this would work well for a masculine card of any age.
